DVF Inspired

Inspired by Fashion...is what today's nail art is all about. I was so taken by this DVF pattern (scroll all the way below to see it), that I had to recreate it on my nails. The polishes I have used are Butter London's Union Jack Black and Cotton Buds, Zoya's Darcy, Chanel's Dragon, Ulta's Moody Blue. To see a similar floral pattern which I did before, click HERE.

Here is the DVF print that inspired my nail art -

Henna Series : The Tradition

Hello Friend's. If you follow my blog you know that for each Eid festival (which occurs twice a year) I post my Henna art instead of my nail art. It's a tradition to apply Henna on your hands for this festival and I have been following this tradition since I was a little girl. So here is this year's Henna for Eid.

EID MUBARAK EVERYONE!!!

Flower Power

Its Fall season upon us and for some reason the color beige reminds me of Fall. While all the flowers are dying in Fall, I decided to create some pretty floral nails as I miss Spring already. The base polish I used it Maybelline’s Naturally Cream

Denim

You have seen my last nail polish swatch of Essence Polish's Blue Jeaned, which looked so much like jeans that I created this denim nail art with it. As you can see I used Blue Jeaned as the base polish and on top of that using a thin nail art brush I created white stitches and added some gold studs to give it a denims look. Hope you all like this denim look.

Blue-Jeaned

Hello Friends, today I am swatching this amazing Essence polish called Blue-Jeaned which is a Sugar effect nail polish. The polish resembles the everyday dark denims and I love it. Two coats are enough to give a good coverage and gives a good jeans look. It’s a texture polish with silver glitters which make it more eye-catchy. Definitely a keeper in my collection

Living In Yellow

I really like wearing this yellow and grey look. It’s simple, clean and chic which was what I was hoping it would turn into. The polishes that I used for this nail art are Zoya’s Darcy, Butter London’s Cotton Buds and Sally Hansen’s Wet Cement. See some other nail art using this Grey-Yellow color combo HERE.

Book Review : The Girls of August

Today is National Read a Book Day. So I decided to post the review of the latest book that I read - The Girls of August by Anne River Siddons. This is my first book by this author. I found it in "Top 10 beach reads for summer" category on Good Reads (Add me as your friend on Good Reads - search for Sony Mansoori).

The concept is very interesting, its about 4 friends, who rent a house every August, away from husband's, work and real life, to spend time with each other. This tradition of theirs comes to standstill for few years after some unfortunate incident. The story begins where they, after a gap of few years decide to continue with this tradition one more time. Unfortunately the book falls flat after that in its story line. There are a bunch of odd scenarios in the book, like Chapter 7 could easily have been skipped and the readers wouldn't have missed anything. The ending was really weird, the author could have choosen to send the book in a different way which would have made up for other short comings of the book.

To be frank, I wasn't much impressed by this book. If you decide to skip reading it, trust me you not mot missing anything. I rate this book 1/5.

BRIGHT Red

Hello Friend. I had a Friend’s party recently for which I was wearing a red Indian outfit. I wanted to create some pretty red nails to match mu outfit and this is the design I came up with. The base red polish used is Chanel’s Dragon.
