Holiday Series: Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

During halloween while browsing through a drug store, I found these cute snowman polishes on display and couldn't help myself from buying the red and green Christmassy glitter which was appropriate for the snowman bottle it came in. This polish is called Snowman Nail. So before the holiday season got over, I had to try it on.

I started with a base of two coats of Revlon's pure pearl (this used to be my favorite polish long ago, I remember wearing it for 3 months straight). After that on half of the nail I applied the red n green Christmas glitter. This glitter is really chunky and thick. But I like how christmassy it looks with white base. The snowman bottle that it came in is so cute that I had to take picture of my nails with it. Hope you like this simple holiday nail art.

Have a wonderful Christmas and rest of the Holidays with your family and friends.
FELIZ NAVIDAD.

Holiday Series: Christmas Colors

Today’s nail art is another one of my simple Christmassy colorblock nail art, done by Christmas colors: Red, Green and Gold. The polishes that I have used are: Red is OPI’s The Spy Who Loved Me, Green is OPI’s Live and Let Die (Both the OPI polishes are from their James Bond collection last year) and Gold is Revlon’s Golden. I was trying out my OPI’s green polish, which led to this simple nail art. Believe it or not I got a lot of compliments on a simple nail art like this.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!!

Holiday Series: Holiday Swirls

During one of our recent weekend getaways, I was browsing through a cute Christmas store and came across a wrapping paper with swirls on it. That gave me an idea to create Holiday swirls, for this Holiday, season on my nails. But instead of going with the typical red and white swirls, I decided to try it with a different combo on each finger.

The polishes that I used are all OPI polishes. Red is The Spy Who Loved Me, Green is Live and Let Die, White is My Boyfriend Scales the Walls, Silver is Haven't The Foggiest and Gold is Oy Another Polish Joke.

The pinky finger design reminds me of Coca Cola Commercials during Christmas but my favorite is the index and ring finger. Which one among the 5 do you like the most?

Holiday Series: Gold leaf top coat

You have heard me talk about the 18K gold leaf top coat polish before, from Zoya. I love it so much I keep trying it out with other colors and this time I tried it with Zoya's Akyra. Here is a picture of both my hands.

This makes a lovely holiday nail art.

Holiday Series: Feels Christmassy

With Christmas around the corner and the whole town decked in Christmas decor it feels Christmassy everywhere and so do my nails. This nail design, I started with different colors but ended up doing it in red and gold. Instead of using glitter polish as it is, I used the glitter placement technique to align the diamond glitter from the polish in this pattern.

The polishes that I have used are: White - Sally Hansen's Hard To Get, Red - OPI's The Spy Who Loved Me, Gold - Zoya's Ziv and the Diamond glitter is from the polish Sinful Color’s Watch It Shine.

Bracelet: Charming Charlie

Holiday Series: Very very simple Holiday Nail art

Last year some of the nail polish companies came out with 18K gold top coat polishes. These polishes where gone as soon as they hit the store racks. I was one of those unfortunates who couldn’t get my hands on one and hence was sulking until I saw Zoya polish having a nice flash sale and giving their 18K gold top coat free, as part of that purchase. So wasting no time I hopped onto their website and bought myself some pretty Zoya shades and got this must have 18K gold top coat with it.

This is a lovely top coat and even after a year I am in love with this top coat. Applying this on any pretty Christmas color polish (red, white, green, blue) creates the most subtle and classy Christmassy nail art and that’s what I did here.

The red base coat is OPI’s The Spy Who Loved Me. This is a very very simple Holiday nail art and if you are not much of a nail artist, definitely give this a try.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Holiday Series: Christmas Ornaments

Christmas Ornaments - how can any Christmas related activity be left out without beautiful ornaments. A Christmas tree without ornaments is like my nails without nail art (wah!!! wah!!!). So today's nail art is inspired by these beautiful ornaments in different colors.

The polishes that I have used are: White - OPI's My Boyfriend Scales the Walls, Gold - Zoya's Ziv, Silver - Sally Hansen's Celeb City, Red - OPI's The Spy Who Loved Me, Green - OPI's Skip the gift wrap, Yellow - Zoya's Darcy, Pink - Revlon's Cupid and Blue - Sally Hansen's Blue Me Away.

I regret using yellow for the Christmas Ornament as it didnt look that nice and defined for a Christmas ornament. I like how the other four turned out.

Holiday Series: Gift Wrapping and Christmas Tree

Hi ALL, Hope you all are having a wonderful Holiday season so far and are ALMOST done with your Christmas shopping. What's the best second best part after Christmas Shopping? Of course it's wrapping all those pretty and thoughtful presents in the beautiful gift wraps. So today’s nail art is inspired by wrapped gifts. Personally more than anything, I love opening a beautifully wrapped present (Of course I save the wrapping for my collection, which ends up creating a big pile of trash ;) And what’s better than a beautifully wrapped Christmas present? So this nail art which I did last Christmas on a badly swaying cruise ship (I should get full points for not ruining it, especially the straight lines), reminds me of pretty wrapped Christmas presents on a cozy Christmas morning. To add that touch, I added a Christmas tree on the accent finger. The polishes that I have used are: Red is OPI’s The Spy Who Loved Me , Gold is Revlon’s Golden and Green is Revlon’s Emerald City.

Enjoy and Happy Christmas Shopping and gift wrapping :)

You will be seeing these polishes used in more of my coming Holiday manicures.

These nails are inspired by the popular holiday treats: Candy Canes. I love how these nails turned out. Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!! What are you thankful for this year? I am thankful for a bunch of things other than the fact that I have started this wonderful nail blog (which was on my mind for a long long time) and I am thankful for all my lovely followers and blog readers out there, most of them, even without ever meeting or knowing me have given such unconditional love and support to me via the media of social networking. I am thankful for all of you out there reading my blog.

So today’s nail art is inspired by partly fall, partly thanksgiving colors. It is a simple dotticure. The polishes that I have used are: Base coat – Sally Hansen’s Antique Bronze, Orange – OPI’s on the same Paige, Red – OPI’s I am Suzi & I'M a Chocoholic, Yellow – Zoya’s Darcy and Gold – Zoya’s Ziv. Hope you all a wonderful Thanksgiving and the long weekend.
