700th Blog Post

Hello Lovelies, Today I am sharing my 700th Blog Post with you all. 700, can you believe that number, coz I can't as a type this post. I have come so far on my journey as a blogger.

Now coming to the nails, today I have some modern chic nails which are inspired by something really cool. I created these nails freehand, even the chevron stripes I painted freehand. I used different polishes for this like Kiko's 29 Royal Blue, Michael Kors Passion, Zoya's Ziv and Purity.

Can you guess what inspired these nails :) If not scroll all the way below.

Ring is from Chloe and Isabel by Sony

So this cake is what inspired my nails, I found the image on pinterest and am not sure who created this masterpiece.

Tutorial : Chevron Colorblock Nails

Hi Friends, I created a step-by-step tutorial for you all for the Chevron colorblock nail art from my last post.

For this nail art you would need -
1. Nail Polishes.
2. Chevron Tape.
3. Top Coat.
4. Base Coat.
5. Scissors.

Step 1. To start, first paint your nails with a base coat to protect your nails.

Step 2. When the base coat is dry, on top of it paint your nails with a base polish. I used Formula X's Dainty White polish.

Step 3. On the top of the nail, cover 1/4th of the nail with navy polish. I did it free-hand, you can use a tape for more accuracy, though here accuracy doesnt matter as we will be covering the lines with other nail polishes. Also make sure you polish dries completely, before you attempt step 4.

Step 4. Cut the chevron tape using scissors into multiple stripes and stick them on the nail as shown in the picture below. Make sure they are sticking to the nail and are not loose.

Step 5. Color the pink and neon blocks as shown below. I used Zoya's Lolly for Pink and Claire's Sunshine for Neon.

Step 6. Slowly remove the chevron tape and ta-da you now you have the colorblocked chevron pattern on your nails.

Step 7. Seal the design with your favorite top coat. I used Formula X's top coat.

Here is my dress that inspired these nails, to read more about it click on the previous post.

Did you like this step by step tutorial? Was it useful? Do you like pictorials or video tutorials better that I post here? Let me know in the comments section below :) and here is a picture with the tutorial summary in case you want to pin it ;) Enjoy!

OPI Paints

OPI launched OPI Paints last year and by the time I got around to buying it, they were sold out everywhere. During Christmas I found a small OPI Paints gift set and grabbed it right away. It was on my 'TO USE' list and it wasn't until now that I decided to try it. So here are the results. I created this nail art starting with silver base which was part of the OPI Paints kit. After it was dry, I added some chevron tape from BornPrettyStore on it (Product Code #23383) and used different OPI paints polishes on it. Then immediately I took out the chevron tape and sealed the design with a top coat. If you are looking to buy this chevron tape or any other nail art products from BornPrettyStore, you can get 10% OFF your order by using a special coupon code QANX31

Here is a closeup and detailed view of the chevron tape from BornPrettyStore.

Holiday Series: Feeling Christmas-yyyy

Hello Friends, today’s nail art is very Christmas-y and is inspired from the very talented @sveta_sanders (Instagram). I wanted to create this nail art for a long time and what better time than the Holidays to create these beautiful RED nails. The polishes I used to create this masterpiece are OPI’s – My Boyfriend Scales the Walls and The spy who loved me. Pretty isn’t it?

To create this nail art I started by painting my nails with white polish, when it was dry, I added some chevron tape from BornPrettyStore on it(Product Code #23383) and painted the red polish on top of it. Then immediately I took out the chevron tape and added red and white dots around the chevron white design.

Something New

When out of ideas - experiment with dots - create something new and Ta Da...my new nail art. I started experimenting the nail art design on my thumb and didnt like the way it turned out. But that didnt stop me from proceeding and the result was the nail art on my other fingers. Sometimes you just start with something else on your mind and end with something totally new and unexpected but in this case - something Good. Enough of somethings? The polishes I used are Butter London's Cotton Buds, Chanel's Dragon (I am almost out of this polish , have to buy a replacement soon), America Apparel's Peacock, Orly's Yellow Submarine and Sally Hansen's Wet Cement.
