Zoya | Snow White

Hi All, today I have a new swatch for you all. Zoya's Snow White. If you follow my blog closely, you know I use Zoya's Purity all the time but this time I decided to try something different and bought Snow White. Snow White is a light white shade which is slightly less opaque and less stark than Zoya's Purity. I used three coats for the pictures below. You can see that I used as the base polish in the nail art HERE.

Zoya : Purity

I ran out of my previous White nail polish so fast that it was time to buy a new one. This time I decided to try a new brand for my most used nail polish and I was looking at one of the 5-Free brands, so I went with Zoya's Purity. My previous white polish was Dainty (from Formula X). I really like this polish so far. It doesn't get thick after a while, which most polishes do. For the pictures below I used 2 coats. Compared to Formula X's Dainty, this one is more thicker but has less distinct polish smell to it. I use white polish a lot, almost in every nail art of mine, so getting my hands on a good, non-toxic white polish is very important to me. So get ready to see more nail designs using this polish.

Formula X: Dainty

I ran out of my previous White nail polish so fast that it was time to buy a new one. This time I decided to try a new brand for my most used nail polish and I was looking at one of the 5-Free brands, so I went with Formula X's Dainty. I have used Formula X polishes before and liked the formula. It doesn't get all thick at the end like others polish brands where the polish becomes so thick at the end that it starts leaving thin polish lines behind, everytime you use them. I have used this polish already to create some nail art designs, you can see those designs HERE, HERE and HERE.

Non-Stop White

Today I am taking a break from the Holiday nail art posts and doing a swatch instead. The polish is OPI Infinite Shine's Non-Stop White. This is my third OPI Infinite Shine polish. You can see the two previous OPI Infinite Shine polishes that I have bought and reviewed, HERE and HERE. OPI Infinite Shine, as I have mentioned before is a collection of nail polishes which are 5-Free (Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor) and gives you gel-like shine that lasts longer than regular polishes.

I was out of my 3rd bottle of Butter London's Cotton Buds which was my goto white polish and was looking for a new White 5-FREE polish when I spotted this pretty all white Non-Stop White shade at a store and decided to go with it. I love this shade, I have already used it in couple of nail art designs and it gives perfect opaque nails after 2 coast of polish. It's not too thick and I like that about it. The application ends with a creamy finish which is glossy and smooth. I use a lot and I mean a LOT of white polish on my nails for nail art (as you can tell) and I am really looking forward to see how this polish ends up being by the time I reach at the end of the bottle (most polishes become thick even before you can finish the bottle). Although it is on the pricey side but if you’re looking for a white nail polish that you won’t have to fight with to use, this one is the one to invest in.

Holiday Series: Candy Cane Nails

It's Holiday season already (can you believe it, 2013 is almost over?) and with Christmas just around the corner I would like to share with you my first Holiday nail art: Candy Cane Nails. These nails are inspired by the popular holiday treats: Candy Canes. I love how these nails turned out. The polishes that I have used are: White is Au Champagne by Orly and Red is OPI’s The Spy Who Loved Me (from last December’s OPI’s James Bond Collection – it has quickly become one of my favorite goto Red polish's).

Swatches

Hi all, today I am sharing with you all some random swatches of my favorite polishes. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably would have seen these.

The first one is a very favorite pink of mine called Mod about You from OPI. It is a very lovely light pastel pink with cool tone to it.

The second polish is Cotton Buds from Butter London. There is nothing so say about it except its a plain white polish perfect for nail art base coat. This is my goto white polish for almost all my nail art's.

The third polish is Fowl Play from Orly. Its a dark purple polish packed with blue and red glitter.

The last one is Moonraker from OPI. This polish is from OPI's Skyfall Collection from Winter 2012. Moonraker is a lovely silvery grey polish. Its very streaky when applied but I love these kind of silvery polishes so I like it.

DS Reserve and Rhinestones

Hello Friends. Today I am sharing my new floral mani with you all. The new thing about this floral mani is I have used nail art rhinestones in the mani. This is very special because this is the first time EVER that I have used rhinestones. Another special thing about this mani is I have used OPI's DS polish called DS Reserve. I like how this pink shade's diamond dust glimmers and glitters by itself. I love DS polishes from OPI and in case you are wondering what DS is, it stands for Designer Series. The polishes in this series have special formal for exceptional shine and dazzle and are slightly pricier than the normal OPI polishes. The white polish that I have used is OPI as well - My Boyfriends Scales the Walls ( from OPI's spider man collection). Hope you all like this mani.

Red Blue and White

Last year for an Indian festival I bought a beautiful Red, Blue and White Indian outfit. A day before the festival I was in dilemma what nail design to apply on my nails which would match my outfit colors. I was looking at some nail stamping plates at that time and Konad's m79 plate's dotted design caught my attention. So instead of buying the plate I decided to free hand that design by myself, in the colors that would match my outfit. Hence the following nail art.

I find it challenging to recreate the nail art by myself, instead of opting for the easy way of doing a nail art (i.e. stamping, nail strips, etc) . You can see another design that I recreated here. The best part about recreating this design myself was I used 2 different colors i.e, Red and Blue. If I had used the stamping plate, the whole design would I have been in one color. Also, the stamping plate doesn't have the "big dots" on every intersection of the small dots but only on the every other intersection. I added the "big dots" on every intersection.

The base polish I used is my faithful white polish, SinfulColors Snow Me White. For Red I used Ulta's Red Carpet Red and for Blue I used Wet n Wild's I need a refresh-mint. Below is a picture of my nails with my matching "Indian Bangles" mixed and matched, from my jewelry collection :)

Here is a picture of the actual Konad m79 stamping plate that I found online. The design I have copied is the one on the top left.

There are a lot of Indian festival's coming up in the next few months. So get ready to see more outfit matching Indian nail designs :)

Black n White Nails

Black and White is the most loved combination and is always in fashion no matter which decade it is. This combo always looks good everywhere be it your home decor, clothes, crockery, shoes or in this case your nails. My recent realization that I have never painted my nails in this chic color combo led to this nail art.

The Polishes that I have used are : Maybelline's Onyx Rush and Butter London's Cotton Buds

Music to my nails

Hi Friends, Hope you all had a great weekend. Today I am sharing my "musical nails" with you all. Over the weekend I went to Shreya Ghoshal's music concert and for that I decided to paint my nails with music notes.

Instead of going with traditional black and white notes I added some color to it.
