A thought and some colorblock nail art

Hi all, I recently realized that since I have a blog now (which a few of you actually read and not just come here for pictures) I can share some of my thoughts as well. Usually, socially we all are not that much vocal about our opinions/thoughts in public (at least I am and share them with only very very close friends) while trying to maintain the polite conversations.

One thing that has been bothering me lately is "copy cats" out there. I have come across some people (in person as well as on social media) who are like stalkers. They secretly follow the blog, keep track of each and every nail art/design posted here and then copy the exact same design and have the guts to show it to me or post in on their profile and pretend it as their own. When I ask them where did you find this design, answer is oh just something came to me(yeah right while reading my blog!!!) My message to such people is that have the decency to credit other's work. If you admire someone's art or are getting inspired by it then at least have decency to acknowledge it. It happens to most of us, I am sometimes total blank in creative aspect and that's when I try to recreate some of my favorite nail artist's designs, of course while giving them the credit they deserve. I have even gone the lengths of tracking an un-watermarked picture, found on a social website and tracking the nail artist. So message to all those "copy cats" out there, it is not that hard to acknowledge someone's work.

Ah, that feels better, now back to nail art. After all that venting, today's nail art is a pretty color block manicure. This design was in my mind for sometime and I like how it got executed on my nails. I love the colors used and how they turned out.

For this mani I started by painting my nails with white polish called Cotton Buds from Butter London. Once the polish was dry I added stripping tape in the pattern of white lines shown in the picture. Then doing one nail at a time I painted my nails with Zoya's Darcy, Sally Hansen's Green with Envy and then OPI's Jade is the new Black. I immediately took out the stripping tape and did not let the polish go dry. That's it. Now doing this on all 10 fingers took a long time but the effect was totally worth it.

I like how this design turned out. I wore this on my nails for 5 days and kept admiring it every time I looked at my nails. Hope you all like it too.

  7. Lovely manicure. I like how it matches your ring... n I totally agree with you. People just care a damn and copy other's design and some pages even publish other's work and dont even credit. Some even erase watermark. .. that's really frustrating

    1. Yes, after I did the mani, I realized that I had an old ring which would match this mani :)

I am glad someone agrees with me on this whole "copy cats" issue. Annoying and frustrating.
